Step 01 · Opening Consulting

You open a clinic once. Don't make that decision alone.

One location, one device, one hire can shape the next 10 years. There are dozens of decisions to make — and no one to tell you which one comes first.

The Reality

What doctors actually worry about before opening

  • “Is this location really right?”

Everyone says it's a good spot. But no one tells you what you should be judging it by.

  • “What should our core treatments be?”

Once your focus is set, equipment, staffing and pricing follow. And that very first step is where most people get stuck.

  • “How many people should we hire, and who?”

One practice manager can change a clinic's atmosphere and its revenue. Yet nobody writes down what to hire for.

  • “Will this layout actually work?”

On a floor plan, everything looks about the same. The problems show up once the doors open and patients start moving.

  • “What do we decide first?”

Get the order wrong, and one early decision forces you to undo every choice that follows.

  • “How much is the right amount to spend?”

Quotes feel arbitrary, and you only find out much later whether you overspent or underspent.

And most doctors end up making every one of these decisions alone.
You can't restart an opening. That's why the time before you start matters most.

Kang Minjun 강민준

CEO, Boostree
Management partner to 200 clinics

He has been part of hundreds of clinic openings, starting from the choice of location. Watching first-hand which clinics settle in and which ones struggle in their first year has given him a clear set of criteria — and he shares them with you before you decide.

  • Someone who thinks it through with you

He's in a position to tell you plainly what you don't need to do.

  • He talks in real numbers from clinics in operation

The experience and operating data built up alongside hundreds of clinics are the basis for every judgment.

  • He doesn't decide for you — you decide together

You get the reasoning and the options, and you make the call once it makes sense to you.

What We Decide Together

What we settle together before you open

Not vague advice — we work through the decisions you have to make, one at a time and in order.

  1. Location and trade-area review

Not “I heard it's good” — we test each candidate site on foot traffic, competition and demand.

  2. Core treatment and procedure design

We decide what to build the clinic around. Equipment, staffing and pricing are settled here too.

  3. Team size and hiring criteria

How many people is right, and what kind of person belongs in which role.

  4. Space and flow design

We review the floor plan together, based on how patients and staff will actually move.

  5. Investment size and P&L simulation

Where to spend and where to save — fixed costs and payback timing checked in numbers ahead of time.

  6. Priorities and launch roadmap

What to decide now and what can wait, with a schedule laid out in order all the way to opening.

Why It Pays Off

Opening a clinic costs hundreds of millions of won.
The most expensive part is the decision you can't undo.

These three are what doctors most often regret after opening.

  • The wrong location

You can't move later. You carry that decision for the entire length of the lease.

  • Overspending up front

Money that's gone doesn't come back — and it's missing right after opening, exactly when you need it most.

  • The wrong first hires

The gap until you rehire, a shaken team, and the patients who left in between — all of it stays with you.

Avoid just one of these, and life after opening looks different.
What we offer isn't the right answer — it's the criteria that cut down the mistakes you can't take back.

When to Start

When is the best time to start?

The biggest difference comes from meeting before you make the decisions you can't undo.

  1. 01Best

Before you sign for a location

We set the trade area, core treatments and funding structure together. Decisions made here shape everything else.

  2. 02

Right after signing · design stage

We review the floor plan, flow and equipment line-up again against how the clinic will really run.

  3. 03

    One month before opening

We put the team, front-desk standards and the operations you need to get through the first month in place.

  4. 04

    If you've already opened

It isn't too late. We start with what can still change within your current setup.

Limited Seats

We work with only 3 clinics at a time

Because the CEO takes on every engagement personally, there is a limit to how many clinics we can work with at once. He stays with you, in person, all the way to opening.

Fit Check

This isn't the right approach for every doctor

Some doctors are a clear fit and some aren't. We'd rather say so up front.

We recommend it if you are

  • Opening for the first time and unsure where to begin
  • Looking at locations but unable to decide without clear criteria
  • Keen to make the decisions yourself — but on solid grounds
  • Short of people around you who will give you a straight answer

We don't recommend it if you

  • Have already decided everything and only need a stamp of approval
  • Want someone to make every decision for you
  • Only need an introduction to the cheapest vendors

If we don't think it's a fit, we'll tell you honestly in the first session.

FAQ

What people often ask before starting

We start with an initial 3-month term and continue month to month after that. Launch preparation needs at least that much time for the results to stick.

Give us 30 days' notice and the engagement ends with no cancellation fee. If you feel the direction isn't right, we won't hold you back.

No. While we're working with you, we don't consult for competing clinics in the same local trade area. When you get in touch, the first thing we check is whether we're already active in that area.

Funding plans, floor plans, business ideas — nothing you share is disclosed outside. That stays true after the consulting ends.

No. The decisions still ahead of you leave plenty of room to change things. We work through what's possible from where you are now, in order.

Launch consulting runs up to opening by default. Ongoing operations can be discussed separately if you need it — and if you don't want it, we won't push it.
